April in New York

March 6, 2017

From Brooklyn to Broadway and beyond, The Big Apple is a city that should be on everyone's bucket list - especially if you like to party.

April in New York is amazing. The weather is mild, the skies are blue, and there's a buzz in the air that must be experienced to be truly understood. There are so many awesome things to in New York during April and if you're not sure where to start, let us lend you a helping hand with our selection of top picks on New York City’s upcoming events...

Smorgasbord Festival

The New York Times calls it “The Woodstock of Eating.”Brooklyn's mouthwateringly good Smorgasbord Festival is known as the 'flea food market' - and if you like your grub, you can't go wrong. Based in Williamsburg on Saturdays and Prospect Park on Sundays, both locations open from 11am - 6pm, rain or shine!

This fantastically foodie venture has been going strong since May of 2011 and is home to a mind-blowing selection of culinary vendors, serving anything from handmade liquorice to meaty ramen burgers.  (Are you a vendor looking to sell your food? There's still time to sign up!) So, soak in the scenery, grab yourself a bite to eat, and satisfy those hunger cravings. The best place to line your stomach before a big night on the town.

Spring Craft Beer Festival

Standing tall at Belmont Race Track, New York's Spring Craft Beer Festival is a beer lover's dream come true. With over 150 craft beers on offer, including lots of tasty brews you've probably never heard of before, if you like your beer and you're looking to get your drink on, this is the place to be.

Last year's breweries included Samuel Adams, ShipYard, and Bad Ass and according to testimonials from a selection of sud-slinging attendees, it was the best one yet. And this year's one promises to be even better!

NYC Pillow Fight

Who doesn't love a good pillow fight? Well, on 1st April, New York City will be hosting one of the world's biggest pillow fights - and you're welcome to join in the mayhem.

Simply bring a soft pillow to your preferred pillow fight location, wait for the signal and prepare to battle - just watch out for flying feathers and rogue teddy bears. We could talk about the pillow fight all day, but this video will show you all you need to know about this epic event...

 Just, wow.

Tribeca Film Festival

Founded in 2001 by Jane Rosenthal, Craig Hatkoff, and the legend that is Robert De Niro, Tribeca Film Festival is an international celebration of storytelling - and it features some pretty cool films, to say the least.

Taking place from 19th - 30th April 2017, Tribeca is set to host an incredible line-up of works from innovative emerging filmmakers as well as established industry legends all in the name of celebrating New York's rich cultural diversity. It really is a ball, and if you happen to be in The Big Apple when it's on, you must check it out.

Brooklyn Folk Festival

Enjoy a slice of New York Bob Dylan style by getting your acoustic on at the 9th annual Brooklyn Folk Festival.

Held at St Ann's Church from 28th - 30th April 2017, the festival's popularity has grown immensely over the years and boasts the best in homegrown folk artists and international talent, plus a sprinkling of special guests here and there. The vibe is amazing and if you're looking to hit the pubs and clubs later on, a day here will make the perfect mood setter.

New York City Concerts

New York in April is an experience unlike any other, and if the above wasn't enough to excite, there are a plenty of showstopping concerts taking place too. There's no business like show business, especially when you're in The Big Apple. If you're in the mood for a big gig or comedy gig, why not attend one of these?
